  • Roland Vejdemo, father of Lukas Vejdemo, is happy to have his son home during this quarantine time. When he’s in Quebec, his father obviously doesn’t get to see him often, so he’s taking full advantage. Regardless of where he plays, his father states he watches 90% of Lukas’ games. Also, interesting enough, during this time without hockey he’s been working towards obtaining a business or economics degree, where he currently sits at 60 out of 180 necessary credits. He also studied during the season, and stated it’s nice to get your mind off hockey for a little. [Matt Cudzinowski]

  • Primeau boasts the perfect attitude to become the next starter in Montreal, one day. “Off the ice, Primeau exudes confidence, but it’s wrapped in a wall of modesty. On the ice, he’s the perfect image of calm, juxtaposed with explosiveness and an ability to make highlight-reel saves.” Sound familiar? Primeau isn’t focused on the future, he isn’t focused on stats, and he isn’t focused on becoming the next Carey Price. He’s currently living in he now, and is focused on improving every day. The time will come, and it’s all about patience. [Marc Dumont]
  • When the NHL suspended its season March 12, the league altered its longstanding “reserve list” rule and prohibited any contract to be signed with a 2019-20 start date. According to a source of The Athletic, there is likely “zero chance” that the NHL will change its mind if the season resumes. This currently affects Alexander Romanov, and players under the same situation. [Michael Russo]
  • The AHL is still planning for a regular October start date for next season, however delaying the 2020-21 season until November, December or even as late as January 2021 could be a possibility. This may affect the development of core prospects currently signed to the Laval Rocket. [Patrick Williams].

  • Romanov’s agent, Dan Milstein, on his eligibility to play when/if the season resumes: “It’s our understanding that Alexander should be allowed to play this season if it does resume. His situation is no different than Vladislav Gavrikov’s situation, who joined Columbus during the playoffs last year.” [Guillaume Lefrançois]
  • Marc Bergevin confirms Allan McShane, Cole Fonstad and Samuel Houde will not receive entry-level contract offers. They will all have to re-enter the draft. [Arpon Basu]

  • It’s expected that NHL and NHLPA will push back the June 1 signing deadline one month. More time is needed to negotiate the possibility of entry level players being allowed to play when/if the season resumes. [Darren Dreger]
  • Jack Han, former player development analyst with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and assistant coach with the Toronto Marlies, states he has bad feeling about Ryan Poehling‘s future. “I think he’s going to have a lot of problems”. He mentions he isn’t a smooth skater, and is clumsy with the puck. He brings up how “he has a hard time dissociating his upper and lower body”. [Nicolas Cloutier]
  • Now on a totally unrelated note, lets go back in time to his 4-goal debut, shall we?
