Alain is a solid two-way pivot who provides high energy and a great motor. He’s always involved in the play, forechecking and causing havoc to the opponent’s defencemen. He’s aggressive along the boards always digging for the puck, using his stick to disrupt passes and breakouts. Alain possesses a great wrist shot and can release it rather quickly. He sees the ice well, has decent playmaking and passing skills. Not an overly dynamic offensive player who doesn’t really drive the offense or create high end plays. A solid skater with good agility, always moving his feet, top-end speed is average.

“…energy player with some good offensive ability .. a good overall skater who looks even faster as he is always moving his feet .. his turns could be smoother which would help his balance .. corrals passes well and quickly releases shots to the net leading to goals or at least creates scoring opportunities .. plays well in his own zone using his speed to quickly get into position .. reliable in terms of his work ethic .. used in many situations by the coaching staff.” – Rick Springhetti (McKeen’s Hockey)

“A strong two-way center who plays the game with intensity and grit. Skates with a powerful stride and strong agility…Is always in the play and battles hard in 50/50 confrontations…Plays with solid levels of energy and controls the boards very well, playing a grinding game…Very good shooter with a wide variety of shot selections. Has a slick release and can corral the puck quickly off a pass and get it on net in a blink of an eye. Makes some creative passes and can carry the puck, but is more of a natural complementary offensive player.” – Aaron Vickers (Future Considerations)
