Rhett Pitlick’s Elite Prospects Stats Page

Pitlick is an offensively skilled winger with elite speed and good scoring touch. His skating is definitely is his best asset and uses it to hound defencemen with his tenacious forecheck. His acceleration is good and is edges are clean and crisp. His wrist shot has okay power behind it for a smaller player but his accuracy is what makes it effective. His ability to shoot in motion and to quickly release also makes him dangerous. He has very good puck skills and can make those high risk plays at an elite speed. He also has great vision and reads the game very well especially in the offensive zone. Despite being smaller in stature Pitlick isn’t afraid to drive the net wide or get to the dirty areas to force turnovers.

“Pitlick has high end skill and playmaking ability that allows him to create time and space on the wing. He proved to be elusive with the puck and difficult for defenseman to lock down along the wall and rarely absorbed direct hits with the puck. Pitlick sees the ice well and is a playmaker with quick strike ability that will identify and take advantage of defensive lapses by the opposition. His top skating gear is good and is an equally fast skater with the puck on his stick.” – (HockeyProspect.com)

“Small in stature but big in speed and playmaking, Pitlick is an explosive skater who simply dominated lesser competition but also held his own in his brief stint with the Lancers. He’ll never be confused with an aggressive or demonstrative player, but Pitlick picks his spots incredibly well and attacks openings as well as any draft eligible outside of the elite prospects in his year group.” – Steve Kournianos (The Draft Analyst)

“Fleet-footed, diminutive winger. Quick and elusive. Playmaker with solid vision. Dominated Minnesota HS hockey but not a lot of high end NHL skills.” – (Draft Prospects Hockey)
